Effective commercial decorative lighting

Lighting plays an important role
for residential and commercial environments.
Most homeowners often care about decorating their homes and less about
their workplaces.  Most commercial
buildings are seldom equipped with lamps for decorative purposes.  The most decorated commercial settings are
hospitality features such as restaurants and hotels.  Lighting your store with rising lighting is
good if your store is about products such as antiques, fashionable clothes
and jewelry.

Decorative lighting is often used
for commercial environments to provide beauty and sophistication.  This type of lighting focuses more on the
lighting fixture rather than the specific light, although it is equally
important.  Luminaires commonly used
for commercial decorative lighting include chandeliers and intricate wall
luminaires.

When you are thinking of decorating
your store with lighting, there are a large number of light bulbs you can
think of to use.  These include light
bulbs, halogen, fluorescent and LED lamps.
Here are some general tips on how you can decoratively light your
stores with any of these light bulbs.

Maintain
consistency

The technology for LED
lamps is still in progress and some lamps are not consistent in terms of
temperature and color of the light.
When you buy the light bulbs, therefore, make your purchases at the
same period for all the number of light bulbs you need.  This is important for maintaining
consistency.  When you place your
purchases with a period of six months or more, the lights in the store will
probably have small variations from those you bought
earlier.

Think about your
customer’s well-being

Buy light
bulbs that do not upset your customers when they are in your store.  Halogen and light bulbs are the best known
for emitting a lot of heat.  Try to
avoid them.  Light bulbs that produce
too much heat can also fade the colors of your product, especially if the
ceiling is a little lower.  LEDs are
the coolest while fluorescents are
moderate.

Think about color
temperature and color reproduction
index

Each light source has a tone
of the natural light color for itself.
To produce light that is soothing and warmer, therefore consider
buying light bulbs with a kelvin rating of between 2700 and 3200. When it
comes to more natural light and true colors, a 4000-4500 kelvin rating is the
most suitable.  For daylight, a rating
of between 5000 and 6000K is appropriate.
Color rendering index (CRI) is a measure of how light shows the true
color of a product and is an important variable for consideration in stores
and commercial buildings.

As much as you want to
perform commercial decorative lighting for your store, the above three factors
are important to consider.  You will
not compromise the quality of your products, nor will you make your customers
incapable.
