Planning home lighting for your home

Lighting plays a very important
and vital role in creating a safe and healthy environment for your home.  Lighting has come a long way from the first
lamp invented by Edison to the super-efficient energy-saving and decorative
models that can transform your home and provide efficient lighting
solutions.

Planning a home lighting
project

The first step before
planning a lighting project is the evaluation of the space to be lit.  Also evaluate the activities that take
place in the specific room to determine the specific lighting fixtures
required.  The lighting technology has
been developed into the energy-efficient compact fluorescent lamp, halogen,
LED and many other types of light bulbs for a perfect design for home
lighting.

Basic types of structural
lighting

The three types of
lighting are ambient, accent and work lighting.  There are many options for providing light
to homes from the integrated architectural solutions that must be integrated
by contractors or craftsmen to the simple table lamps that can only be
connected.  The architectural light
forms are bay, sofa and valance that are integrated into the structure of the
room.  These are mostly used for
ambient lighting.  Recessed lamps are
another form of light that is installed above the ceiling and sends a
relatively narrow light band in one direction.  Track lighting is mounted or hung from the
ceiling and is used for work or accent lighting.  Base cabinet lights are popular as work
lighting for the kitchen.

Different
types of luminaires

Chandeliers
or pendants are luminaires suspended from the ceiling.  Chandeliers direct the light upwards and
provide ambient lighting, while the pendants direct the light downwards and
provide task lighting and are hung over a kitchen or dining table.  Both of these luminaires enhance the
decorative style of the room.  Ceiling
lamps are lamps that are mounted directly in the ceiling with the light bulb
hidden by a glass or plastic shade, which provides ambient light.  Wall Scones are surface mounted on the
walls and provide ambient or work lighting.
Wall scones come with very attractive and stylish shades and they
direct the light up or down.  In
addition to other lighting options, there are desk lamps, table lamps and
floor lamps with tables in principle for work or reading.  All these luminaires are available in a
wide range and can decorate and enhance the atmosphere in your
home.
