Flooring wooden tiles

Choosing the right flooring plays a
crucial role in designing a space. Often the question arises whether wood or
no wood should be laid. Especially with wooden tiles, there are models that
are almost identical to a real wooden floor and can hardly be distinguished.

Cozy look of a wooden floor

Wooden tiles are just the thing for someone who appreciates the warm, cozy
look of a wooden floor, but at the same time does not want to do without the
easy care of conventional tiles. Wood tiles are so-called “mixed
tiles”. The name comes from the different processed materials such as
ceramics, stoneware, stoneware or porcelain stoneware. The mixture of the
individual materials creates the beautiful look, which resembles a parquet
floor or floorboards for the sake of confusion. As the name “wood
tile” already reveals, it is inside a tile and outside a wood
paneling.

The characteristics of wooden tiles:

They have the same technical characteristics of a flow and at the same time
offer the beautiful warm tones and grains of real wood. The ceramic wood
tiles differ in their appearance barely from a real parquet or floor boards
and also offer countless possibilities in the design and are therefore not
inferior to their model. The countless design templates of the wood tiles
range from the stick-look, over herringbone pattern to the ship’s floor
design. The look of various precious woods such as walnut or boxwood are
available and can be laid as a wood tile cost in the home. For these
beautiful wooden tiles not a single tree must be felled.

The dimensions of wooden tiles:

But not only countless designs are available from the wood tiles, but also
many different sizes. They are often based on the dimensions of classic
wooden floors. Thus, wood flows are available with a length of up to 120
centimeters. The widths range between 15 and 20 centimeters. Some models also
have a typical tile width of 60 centimeters.

The
advantages

  • especially easy to
    clean
  •

  • very robust and
    durable
  •

  • suitable for inside and
    outside (for example bathroom, terrace)
  •

  • Water-repellent
    surface
  •

  • high thermal conductivity
    and suitable for underfloor heating

The laying

Although wood tiles are visually similar to a parquet floor, they still
have to be laid using tile adhesive. After installation, the joints between
the wooden tiles should be sealed with silicone or joint mortar. In order to
preserve the wood floor effect, the joints must be kept narrow.

The
disadvantages

    •

    • very expensive
      installation
    •

    • Breakage or splintering
      possible
    •

    • hard
      ride
    •

    • do not feel like
      wood
